Sonic Performance
An exploration of self-development through voice, using live looping in Ableton Live 12 and the Push 3 to build an immersive and expressive performance practice.
Project Overview
This project is an exploration of self-development through voice, using live looping in Ableton Live 12 and the Push 3 to create an immersive and expressive performance.
Over the course of this project, I have been learning how to use new tools and technologies to shape sound in real time, allowing the performance to evolve organically through layering, texture, and experimentation.

The piece centres around the voice as the primary instrument, supported by subtle ambient elements and rhythmic foundations.
It reflects both my creative interests in ethereal and atmospheric sound worlds, and my personal journey in building confidence as a performer.
This project marks the beginning of my exploration into live performance using technology, and highlights both the challenges and growth that come with stepping into unfamiliar creative territory.
Creative Aims
The aim of this project was to explore live performance as a creative practice, using voice and technology to build an immersive sonic experience.
I wanted to challenge myself by stepping outside of my comfort zone and learning new software, while also developing confidence in performing and creating in real time.
A key focus was to create an ethereal and atmospheric sound world that reflects my artistic identity, while experimenting with live looping as a method of composition and expression.

Reflection
This project challenged me to step outside of my comfort zone and explore live performance in a new way. Learning new tools while developing creative ideas was both demanding and rewarding, and it’s something I’m excited to continue building on.
